id Software, the developer who brought us such beloved franchises as Commander Keen, Doom and Quake have severed their ties from games publisher Activision.
During EA's E3 opening address, John Carmack, head of id, announced that id and EA have formed a new publishing partnership. The new deal means that EA will now be the exclusive publisher for all future releases from id.
